In June 2024, construction of the House of Healing began. The new building, a Coast Salish style longhouse, will serve as an educational center to promote healing, cultural exchange, and supportive understanding for the communities served by the university.
In May 2024, construction work began to improve 25th Street north of Bill McDonald Drive to the site for the planned House of Healing Coast Salish Longhouse at the south edge of the arboretum, just north of the Commissary Building. This project is improving the road and add sidewalks and utilities to serve the new building.
25th Street is now fully open up to the junction of 25th Street and Arboretum Drive. Access on Arboretum Drive is restricted after that point. From April 1 - May 14th, 2025, Arboretum Drive will be closed past the gate to allow PSE to install power for the House of Healing. Emergency and maintenance vehicle access will be maintained.
Parking along 25th Street and Arboretum Drive will be closed during construction and will reopen as phases of construction are completed.
Notifications will be sent ahead of any shutdowns, and updates will be posted to this webpage.
