Division 26 - Electrical Switchgear-Primary Metering

  1. This section provides minimum guidelines for the procurement and installation of primary metering on building loads served through main distribution switchgear panels. The basis for this standard is the Electro Industries/Gauge Tech Shark® 250, Bacnet/IP Communicating Multifunction Power Meter. Equivalent or better power metering technology appropriate for this application is acceptable.
  2. Required features/capabilities:
    • Multifunction measurements of AC voltage, current, power, and energy.
    • Utilize advanced DSP technology, high sampling rates, and 24 bit analog to digital conversion.
    • 0.2% or better energy class accuracy with compliance to modern ANSI and IEC accuracy standards.
    • Revenue grade power meter with native BACnet / IP 100BaseT Ethernet Protocol Utility grade test pulse allowing verification of performance to rated accuracy.
    • A Modbus TCP socket that can be used to simultaneously poll through the device.
    • Availability in meter or transducer version.
    • Integrate seamlessly into campus BACS. 
    • Industrial rated design.
    • Required to be BACNET Testing Laboratory (BTL) Certified.
  3. Additional preferred features:
    • Utility block and rolling average demand.
    • Adjustable demand profiles.
    • Voltage provides instantaneous maximum and minimum for surge and sag limits.
    • Optical IrDA port, allowing the unit to be set up and programmed using a remote laptop PC without the need for a communication cable.
  4. Isolation:
    • All inputs and outputs are galvanically isolated to 2500 Volts AC.
